wllpppr started as a simple idea: a hand-curated wallpaper library where people could discover and share high-quality wallpapers without the clutter of modern ad-heavy sites. The goal was to build something that felt like old-school internet — fast, minimal, and respectful of your attention.
The frontend is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript served as static pages — no framework overhead. The backend runs on Supabase for authentication, storage, and the database. Wallpapers are uploaded by the community, categorized, and surfaced through a voting system inspired by Reddit/Hacker News.
Key features include dark mode with a CSS custom property toggle, a favorites system, category-based browsing, mobile-first responsive layout, and a status page for transparency. The entire thing is deployed on Vercel with zero tracking cookies.
