Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Shen (shen.zagan.space) uses them solely to keep you signed in and to keep the app working.

Cookies We Set

  • Session cookie (cloudy_session) — strictly necessary. Holds an opaque session identifier so you stay signed in. It is an HTTP-only cookie, valid for 30 days, and is refreshed on activity.
  • Visitor cookie (cloudy_visitor) — used to keep anonymous usage metrics per visitor rather than per request.
  • OAuth state cookie — a short-lived cookie set while you complete a Discord/GitHub sign-in, protecting the login flow against cross-site request forgery. It expires within minutes.

None of these cookies are used for advertising, tracking across sites, or analytics.

Local Storage

The app also uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) for a few preferences: your chosen theme (cloudy.theme), your cookie acceptance (cloudy.cookieConsent), and the view you were on before an OAuth redirect. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared with your browser's site-data tools.

Third-Party Cookies

Hosting is provided by Vercel and the backend by Render; their infrastructure may set their own strictly necessary cookies to deliver and secure the service. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Managing Cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can reset your cookie acceptance at any time by clearing the cloudy.cookieConsent entry. Blocking the session cookie will prevent signing in — the app is unusable without it.
