Overview

Shen (shen.zagan.space) is a Discord music bot and YouTube/YouTube Music website. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how long it is kept. The short version: minimal data, used only to run the service, no selling or advertising.

Data We Collect

  • Account data — depending on how you sign in: your Discord username and avatar (Discord OAuth), GitHub handle and email (GitHub OAuth), or your email address and display name (email/password via Supabase Auth).
  • Your saved content — tracks you save to your library, favorites, playlists, and recently-played history, stored under your account.
  • Bot usage — when you use the bot, the server/channel identifiers and queue activity needed to provide playback.
  • Anonymous usage — a per-visitor count (via the cloudy_visitor cookie) and heartbeat timestamps used to keep the backend from idling. No identifying details beyond a random visitor id.

How Data Is Used

  • To sign you in and keep your session secure.
  • To store and restore your library, playlists, favorites, and history.
  • To run the Discord bot and queue you requested.
  • To keep the backend responsive and diagnose outages.

Data is not sold, traded, or shared with advertisers. Third parties involved are limited to infrastructure providers: Vercel (hosting), Render (backend), and Supabase (email/password authentication). Discord and GitHub handle their own OAuth identity handoff under their own policies.

Storage & Retention

Your account data and saved content are stored on the backend host and kept for as long as the service runs or until you delete them (see below). Sessions are stored server-side and expire after 30 days. Audio is streamed live and never recorded.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Export or delete your library, playlists, favorites, and history from the app.
  • Sign out from the sidebar, which ends your session everywhere it is used digitally.
  • Request removal of your account data by emailing vhxnga@proton.me. (Email/password accounts can also be deleted via the Supabase dashboard on request.)

This policy may be updated from time to time; the “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
