Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shen (shen.zagan.space) — a Discord music bot and YouTube/YouTube Music website — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The Service

Shen provides the following to signed-in users:

• Searching and streaming audio from YouTube and YouTube Music in your browser.
• Queuing tracks for playback in a Discord voice channel via the Shen bot.
• A personal library, recently played history, favorites, and playlists tied to your account.

The service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Audio streams are served for your own listening; you may not re-distribute or republish streamed content.

Accounts

You may sign in with Discord, GitHub, or an email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity on your account. Email accounts are created through Supabase Auth and are subject to their terms for the underlying identity service.

Discord Bot Behavior

The bot joins voice channels only when you explicitly ask it to (via /joinor the website's play control). It plays audio in the channel you join or select and leaves when told (or when idle for a while). You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to play audio in the servers and channels you use the bot in.

Content & Copyright

All audio is sourced from YouTube and YouTube Music. Shen does not host song files; it plays them from the source. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the service complies with the terms of YouTube and any applicable license, and you must not use the service to infringe any third party's rights.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service or backend APIs.
• Use the service to play illegal or infringing content.
• Abuse the bot (for example, spam commands or queue thousands of tracks) in ways that degrade the experience for others.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.

Availability & Changes

Shen is a personal project. The service may change, become unavailable, or be shut down at any time without notice. Features, limits, or these terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Limitation of Liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including downtime, audio failures, or loss of queued or saved content.
